Unity

We are pleased to announce the 16th El Haddawi Winter School. It will take place from Monday, 04 to Saturday, 09 January 2016 at the island convent "Abtei Frauenwörth" on lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, Germany.

In Sufi mysticism the Arabic term „Tawhid“– the unity of being – exists. This concept also exists in other mystic paths as well as in the early times of theatre. In the antique Greek theatre the unity of time, location and storyline was an important guideline. <

Together with our guest teachers we will explore how “Tawhid” relates to our daily life and how it can be applied in an artistic process.

• How can we find unity between daily life and spirituality?
• Is there something unifying in between the religions?
• What connects art and life?
• How can we accomplish the unity between thought, word and action?

Together with our guest teachers we will investigate these questions with techniques and methods from dance, theatre and meditation to discover new spaces of experience, mindfulness and creativity with in ourselves and the community.

El Haddawi is a school for Movement Concept®, dance, martial arts, and body work. It works at the interface between body work, performing arts, and spirituality. With methods based on work with the body, incorporating meditation and humour we approach mystic experience and understanding. In addition to workshops taught by Ingo Taleb Rashid and guest lecturers, the following activities are planned: an opening ceremony, various interactive lectures, and opportunities for music and dance improvisation.

We are pleased to be able to offer a unique festival concept which El Haddawi has instituted for many years. Both the participants and the invited teachers will take part in all workshops together throughout the Winter School. This creates a very personal and inspiring atmosphere which enhances the exchange between teachers and students.

Partial attendance: It is possible to participate in the Winter School's first half or second half:Tuition for half of the event is 260€, or 230€ with early registration.

Accommodation and meals are not included.
The early booking discount applies till December 01, 2015.

Meals will cost about 32 € per day and include three meals per day with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, including a variety of teas. The rates for the rooms are between 25 € and 55 € depending on the category of the rooms. We cannot guarantee the chosen room category.
